The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: GNOME-CON! We are a group of gamers, sci/fi and fantasy fans who decided we needed a convention closer to home. We are fans of gnomes and know not to fall under the spell of elves. We dream about dice and game tiles and wonder how we will ever make it through the elusive dungeon of our dreams. We know you should check for loot cautiously in any endeavor and look forward to meeting you in April!
-the Gnome Enclave

The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: S.P.A.C.E! ”SPACE is about the comics and the creators with no distractions. I’ve always felt a great creative buzz during the show.” – Bob Corby, Show Organizer
“You never know what you’ll find at S.P.A.C.E. A new favorite. An old one. Multiple genres represented. People from the webcomics world. People who just do mini-comics. The show has creators just starting out. As well as creators who have been working on their craft for quite some time. Pro… amateur… the common thread is they’re all creating their own thing.”
The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: NAUTICON! A re-imagining of the con experience, a “boiling down” if you will, of what makes cons fun to those over the age of 21. So to that end, you may not see some of the things traditionally associated with conventions.
It really ISNot-A-Con as you know it.
We go for real OUT OF THE BOX thinking on this one.
The Artist Colony is a place where you won’t see anything you could find at a store in your area, we’re going for creators and craftsmen.
The Panels will always be of a nature where the first words out of a presenter’s mouth won’t be, “Are there any children in the audience?” ‘Cause there won’t be.
The Events and Entertainments will be a little naughty, but not nasty, a place for you to have a good time and perhaps make a new friend who shares your nerdy.
The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: CAPCLAVE! A small relaxed literary convention with a program that usually focuses on the short fiction form. Our Guests of Honor and other notable authors, editors, artists, and fans of the short fiction form will explore the creation and enjoyment of short fantasy and science fiction genre stories.
Past Capclaves have hosted discussions with authors and fans; readings by authors; a dealer’s room with books, magazines, artwork, crafts, and other science fiction and fantasy related items; exhibits by artists; space science presentations from NASA; a hospitality suite; room parties; interesting conversations with other fans and professionals; and a relaxed atmosphere for visiting old friends and meeting new friends.
The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: BALTICON 48! The Maryland Regional Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention! BSFS is an equal opportunity organization. Its members range in age from young children to septuagenarians, from ex-hippies to ex-religious, from unemployed to self-employed, from lawyers to truck drivers, but they all have one thing in common — science fiction. Come visit us, we won’t think you’re weird because you like that “sci-fi” stuff or have a passion for science and technical stuff.
Do you love science fiction and fantasy? Then the SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: BOSKONE 52! A regional science fiction convention, which features an impressive array of well-known figures in the field, including writers, artists, editors, publishers, musicians, scientists, gamers, bloggers, conrunners, reenactors, and fanzine editors. The longest-running SF con in New England, Boskone usually attracts more than 1000 fans and pros for a weekend of panels, readings, kids activities, demonstrations, small-group discussions, filksinging, videos, games and more!
The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: GAYLAXICON by Outlantacon! An Atlanta-based event for the Queer Geek audience! You’ll find all the usual convention fare here—discussion panels, gaming, costuming, special events, etc—the difference is that it all has a queer ‘bent’ to it. Here you can enjoy all the convention trappings in an atmosphere where you’re free to be yourself! We also offer some pretty unique twists as well, like our own versions of Match Game (a staple since 2007,) Project Cosplay (2010,) Nea’s Drag Race (2011) and the new, wildly popular Sock Puppet Theatre that was added last year.

The SoulGeek Con Blog Presents: COMIC FEST! A 3-day convention that captures the intimate scale, camaraderie, and good feeling of the fan gatherings and conventions of yesteryear. It brings professional writers, artists, filmmakers, and other creators together with their fans in an environment of creative exchange, much as the early San Diego Comic-Cons did. Everyone at the Fest will have a share in making it a truly memorable experience.
